WHY DESIGNING YOUR PANS, BRANDING YOUR NYLON IS IMPORTANT IN YOUR BREAD BAKING BUSINESS


Baking good bread in very important in the business of bread baking. But there are two  things that can take the first and third step in-between bread baking.

It's important to know how to bake bread that lasts longer, chewy, elastic, and firm. But your pan design and nylon printing is very import factors in successful bread marketing. Many bakers do neglect this.

Pan: From Wenchi, Techiman, Kasoa, Bawku, Ho, Tarkwa, Walewale, Takoradi etc in Ghana, Lagos, Asaba, Port Harcourt, Abuja, Warri, Awka etc where I have visited to train people physically clients in  my One-On-One or group classes, it's all the same. People use the same shape and type of pans. And some even use local nylon(rubber) or plan, unprinted nylon. 

When you make pans for your bread, make it unique. I have gutters on my pan cover (lid) and it shows on my bread when baked. This is optional anyways. Some people have their signature on their bread.

NYLON PRINTING: Branding is a good way to market your bread. You need repeated customers who would know your brand to buy again and again. 

Print quality, unique nylon with your brand name. Don't use other people's nylon. That's business suicide. You are promoting other people's brand. It's also a crime. Don't use local nylon to poorly package your bread.

There are processes of printing your nylon.  And you need to understand it as a bakery owner. 

First you need to produce your Stereo and then print with your stereo anytime you want to print.

Always hold and keep your stereo with you after printing and not the printer holding it as they could print more and start selling your nylon to other bakers.

8 RULES AND TOOLS FOR SUCCESS IN BREAD BAKING



Like every business, to succeed in bread baking, you need rules to operate by.

Break it and you will reget it. Abide by it and you will smile always with your bread business to the bank. Following are rules you should keep to succeed, wherever you live; Kumasi, Accra, Wenchi, Pokuase, Techiman, Bubumbura, Kasoa, Waliwali, Aflao, Takoradi l, Lagos, Durban, Abidjan, Togo, Cameron, PH, Warri, Abuja, Kenya, Benin, Ekpoma etc..


1. Don't bake what everyone is baking within your community, be unique with recipes and packaging. 

I was using Nigerian pans while I baked in Ghana, and using Ghana pans while I baked in Nigeria. I started with South African Pans anyway. 

2. Create or own expert recipes. Some people believe in FREE RECIPES. You must invest in quality bread recipes to make a difference. Use quality industrial bread ingredients. Concentrate on what gives your bread volume, chewy, last more than or up to  ten days shelf life, elastic, firm and does not collapse, not hard etc. When you do this, your business will grow.

But when you bake Bake bread that's substandard, crumbly, smelling like alcohol, bread that collapse to the center and you will be out of business soon.

3. Use quality oven. Ovens are different, there substandard, low quality oven people use for bread making and they keep complaining. Invest in Oven. Don't buy cheap oven. 

Most of these cheap ovens are meant to bake cake and confectioneries and not bread. They have low heat, low quality materials. 

Galvanized Padded Ovens are what you should use if you are using Fabricated ovens, but deck ovens are English oven for bread. I however recommend Fabricated Galvanized Padded Oven as it uses low gas, and it's  only powered by gas. This saves cost of production.

4. Don't use anyhow flour for bread baking. Pastry flour and bread flour are different. They are produced grown form two different type of wheat plant and produced for bread and pastries distinctively. This is exactly why some bread crumbles due to lack of gluten.

5. Always have oven thermometer attached to your oven. Bread baking needs a particular temperature to rise, it also need a particular temperature to bake. You must place oven thermometer inside your oven to understand and monitor this for a good chewy bread to be baked, to avoid burning your baked bread.

6. Use oven that has glass face to monitor your baking. Don't open your oven within a period as you bake to prevent your bread form falling.

8.  Understand Proper and Professional Pricing and Scaling. Secondly, you will only bake what quantity that has been paid for. Some bakeries will bake in excess and then bread is not sold.

Read all you need to know about various mixers and what you should buy or how to use each mixer and hand for bread dough mixing.

So I have some people who come for my physical bread baking  trainings and online bread classes after buying their equipments, even without consulting any professional or expert before they buy.

They just lookup for equipments sellers online through Google search, and call to  buy bread equipments, then payment is made and supply takes place. You don't buy big spiral mixers and other bread baking equipments without understanding what it does, how it works and how to use it.

ABOUT CAKE MIXER AND BREAD BAKING: 


1. Your Cake mixer is not for bread. It's a cake mixer. It is used for Soft Flour. Confectioneries or Soft Flour is for Cakes, Pastries, Confectioneries or for biscuits. Hard our is used for bread and has gluten. Gluten is what makes bread to be bread and come out elastic.


2. If you want to use Cake Mixer for mixing bread flour, you have different ways entirely to that. You also need to apply a different proofing method. You are mixing it wrongly and that's why your bread is coming out hard, not elastic, not chewy, looking rough, and spoiling fast. 3. HAND MIXING BREAD: You can also mix bread with your hand mixing method If you don't have a mixer and bake your bread. I have also covered this process in my book titled Hand Made Bread Recipe. 


4. LOCAL MILLING MACHINE: I have travelled near and far, all around regions of Ghana training my clients who by God's grace are running successfully their bakeries, from Wenchi, Techiman in Bono Region, Takoradi, Bawku, Ho, Waliwali, Nkawkaw, Aburi, Wineba, Bubumbura, Dansoman, Kasoa, Atomic, Hatsho, Madina, Spintex, Darwenya, Atadeka, Dome etc, they all use local milling machine to mill their dough. Only just a few, about 6 bakeries uses the spiral mixers for their bakery work. This local miller is a public machine where everyone goes to mill and go. It is good but not completely hygienic, you ah e to wait for your turn. And sometimes, these operators don't mill it completely as they are win a hurry. 

They could just turn it 15 times and says it's ready. It's is also manually operated and requires a whole man-power energy for the operators 



SPIRAL MIXER: Spiral means winding into a continuous and gradually widening curve and.forming a cone. This is how a Spiral Mixer is made and it's meant to work on hard flour.  Spiral mixer is made Professionally for bread mixing and milling. It has different speed and size- capacity.

Don't buy single speed mixer. It will not work for your bread dough mixing completely. You should buy double speed mixer.

Don't buy mixer with inferior dough hook and timing chain. It could break during mixing. 

A Spiral mixer will mix and mill your dough until is is ready.

10 WAYS TO REMAIN POOR OR CONTINUE BEING POOR


It's said that the rich don't impress you enough to know they are rich. But the poor want to show you they are rich. Don't look rich. Be rich.

Here are ways to remain poor.

1. YOU SPEND MORE THAN YOU EARN: Spending more than you earn monthly, weekly, or daily will probably keep you poor forever.

2. YOU DON'T SAVE OR KEEP ASIDE SOME SAVINGS: Poor people don't save. You need to save a small amount continuously. You need to keep aside a small percentage of your earnings to enable it to build over time.

3. YOU DO NOT GROW YOUR MONEY: You earn and eat all you have instead of saving and investing part of your earnings.

4. REFUSING TO EDUCATE YOURSELF

You won't grow because you don't invest in your education. Educating yourself will increase your earning power because you will get a higher-paying job instead of staying in a poor-paying job and getting stuck there.

5. NOT ACQUIRING A VALUABLE PAYING SKILL: Most of us don't learn new skills. We don't invest in skill acquisition. You must learn skills that will lift you up financially.

6. BAD FINANCIAL DECISIONS: Because you don't invest in financial education, you make financial choices that will keep you poor. Many people are in debt because of bad financial decisions. There are people who take loans from mobile loan apps and can't pay them back, some from relatives, etc.

7. NEGLECTING YOUR HEALTH: Because you don't take care of your health, you will spend on medical issues and lose productive activities, which will make it difficult for you to work and make money.

8. BAD ASSOCIATION: Negative-minded people will talk you out of pursuing your goals. They talk you out of positive things and inspirations and always show and tell you why your goals and dreams won't work. Separate yourself from them.

9. PROCRASTINATION: Your financial potential could be ruined by procrastinating on important tasks. Don't postpone important tasks, as it will rob you of opportunities to make money.

10. FEAR: Some people are not inspired or motivated to pursue their goal because they are afraid of what people will say if their goal fails or are afraid to handle success. Thinking big and destroying fear will give your goal leverage.

These are tips that keep poor people poor. If you want to remain poor, keep implementing them. But if you want to be on your way to financial freedom, practice the opposite of the tips.

3. MARKETING ABILITY:  There many bakers with good bread, good costing but with poor marketing and selling abilities. And majority are not ready to learn how to sell.

Marketing your product is the bone of any business. From branding to have your bread in the market place, nothing is compete unless there is exchange of money for your goods.

Opening a bakery does not mean it will be successful. That's not a guarantee. Tell the people even if they don't care, what makes your bread different. Be aggressive and crazy about your product. HERE ARE TYPES OF BAKERS AND WHAT IS THE DUTY OF A BAKER IN A BAKERY


You know most people do not know who a Baker is and what a Baker's duty should be.

So today I am explaining who a Baker is.

There are basically two types of bakers if you want to become one.

1. Commercial Bakers: This is a baker who work in high volume facilities to produce bread, cake, pastry etc and are called Pastry Chefs. You can specialize.

Here is a baker with no time for experiment but is expected to follow strict rules to make bread. Commercial Bakers uses Fabricated Ovens, Deck Ovens and Rack ovens.

2. Retail Bakers: A retail baker is one who bake in small shops, local shops and are called local bakers or retail bakers.

WHAT ARE THE REAL DUTIES OF A BAKER

1. Check and make sure the Ingredients are all of high quality.

2. Keep and maintain equipments at all time

3. Scale all ingredients to standard measurement 

3. Mix all ingredients with standard process for quality production. 

4. Cut and shape dough

5. Transfer dough into Baki g pans and trays 

6. Make sure oven temperature is set to standard baking and transfer dough into oven to bake 

7. Make sure bread is fully baked.
